Vinex Slavyantsi is among the most prestigious wine producers in Bulgaria. In historical perspective the company’s roots can be traced back to the distant year of 1898.
Since its founding the company has been in the business of wine and rakia production and is situated in the Sungurlare valley, which is part of the Southern vine-growing region. The success of the company can be attributed to the fine blend of traditions and modern technology used.
A combination of tradition and innovation.
Vinex Slavyantsi is situated in the Sungurlare region, part of the Southern vine-growing region. The Sungurlare landscape is characterized by mountainous and hill areas, at an altitude of 450 m above sea level.
The soils of the region are mainly light, loamy-sandy, maroon and peaty, with a comparatively low subsoil fertility. The winters are soft and the summers are predominated by warm days and cool nights, resulting from the close location of the Black Sea and the Balkan mountains. These conditions favor the production of quality grapes and wines.
The vineyard of Vinex Slavyantsi occupies about 535 hectares, situated on the southern foothills of the valley. The grape sorts cultivated are Misket, Chardonnay, Traminer, Muscat Ottonel, German Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz.
Vinex Slavyantsi consists of five wine-cellars: Slavyantsi, Sungurlare, Lozarevo, Chernitsa and Karnobat.
Using highly efficient technologies and employing qualified personnel the company produces about 150 000 hectoliters of wine, vermouth and rakia per year. The volume capacity is 300 000 hectoliters, including 200 000 hectoliters for preliminary wine production.
The winery utilizes four modern technological lines for cold sterilization and bottling of dry and sparkling wine, vermouth, rakia and brandy, as well as a “bag in box” packaging line providing a capacity of 3 to 10 liters.
